Duties: Activity Assistant

Experience in providing activities to residents required 1+ year.

The hours will be: 10am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend.

- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
- Engage residents in various activities to promote socialization, physical exercise, and mental stimulation.
- Assist with the management of the activity schedule, ensuring that activities are well-planned and executed.
- Provide support to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure that residents' individual needs and preferences are met.
- Help create a positive and engaging environment for residents by fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Experience
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in senior care or assisted living.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with the specific needs and challenges of individuals with dementia or memory loss.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Ability to plan and organize events and activities that cater to a diverse group of individuals.
- Understanding of social work principles and practices related to senior care.
