MHS is seeking a mission-driven, dedicated and clinically experienced Associate Director of Psychological Services to provide strategic leadership and support to the Director of Psychological Services. This role is critical in overseeing the mental health and wellness initiatives for MHS students and ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team of 22 psychological services staff (14 full-time, 8 part-time), including psychologists, psychotherapists, behavioral support staff, and administrative professionals.
  • Share 24/7 on-call responsibilities for crisis intervention and emergency mental health needs, including consultations for investigations and student safety concerns.
  • Represent Psychological Services in Divisional Administrative Leadership Teams, Intervention Teams, and cross-functional wellness initiatives.
  • Implementation of the Psychological Services Emergency Response Plan, in collaboration with the Director of Psychological Services.
  • Develop proactive mental health programming and capacity-building strategies in both the Homelife and Scholastic domains.
  • Serve as a designee for the Director of Psychological Services as needed.

Location: Onsite Hershey, PA Salary Range: $124,000 $165,000 (based on experience) + excellent benefits package Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM + on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or a related mental health field (required).
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology or related discipline from an APA-accredited institution (preferred).
  • PA Licensure required; LPC or LCSW (acceptable), psychologist licensure (preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of clinical supervision and crisis consultation experience.
  • Valid PA drivers license in good standing.

Core Competencies:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in child and adolescent mental health, crisis management, and trauma-informed care.
  • Leadership in supervising licensed professionals and managing interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with students, families, and staff.
  • Expertise in psychological assessment, suicide and violence lethality evaluation, and case management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and clinical documentation systems.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, student-centered care, and continuous learning.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-stakes scenarios.
