We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our dynamic engineering team in Houston. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing electrical design drawings and documentation for a range of industrial and commercial projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems. This role involves working closely with engineers, project managers, and CAD teams to deliver high-quality and code-compliant electrical designs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and revise electrical drawings (e.g., one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts) using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Assist engineers in the design and layout of power distribution, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems.
  • Prepare equipment schedules, load calculations, and conduit/cable tray layouts.
  • Interpret and apply NEC, IEC, and client-specific standards in design work.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, structural).
  • Participate in design reviews, site visits, and QA/QC processes.
  • Manage documentation within BIM/CAD platforms and ensure proper version control.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design (industrial, commercial, or utility projects).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and familiarity with Revit, MicroStation, or SmartPlant is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience with ProjectWise, Bluebeam, or similar document management tools is preferred.
