Position Overview

The Parking Operations Planning and Analysis division of DOT’s Traffic Operations manages parking for the city’s 14,000 meters, mobile parking payment app, seven garages, and off-street parking permits. The division generates over $265M annually, with a budget of $32M OTPS and $30M capital, employing over 350 staff across 9 groups.

Role Description

We seek an experienced candidate for the role of Executive Director (ED) of the Finance Group within Parking Operations. Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, the ED will oversee revenue and financial functions, including revenue reporting, reconciliation, adjustments, budgeting, contract administration, and customer service. The team of 30 handles revenue from various sources, manages cash and credit transactions, and supports financial modeling and projections.

  • Location: 34-02 Queens Blvd., LIC, NY 11101
  • Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Remote work eligibility: Up to 2 days/week under the City and DC37 agreement

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in relevant fields plus 2 years of professional experience in finance, management, or related areas, including 18 months in a supervisory role; OR
  2. Baccalaureate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, including 18 months in a supervisory role.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills, with excellent communication.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Office skills, data management experience.
  • Extensive budget experience, including city budgets.
  • Vendor relationship management experience.
