Directs and controls the operation of the GM/HBC Department, including supervising and training personnel to achieve departmental and store sales and profit objectives. Provides feedback and recommendations on operational issues and personnel decisions to Store Director and Division management. Duties And Responsibilities Champions corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed division customer service goals. Instills a culture of excellent customer service in the department and throughout the store. Responsible for total store operations and directing associates throughout the store, as well as department managers, in the absence of or as needed by the Store Director. Manages the GM/HBC Department, planning, organizing, and directing daily operations. Conducts inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and cleanliness standards. Maintains stock levels and controls pricing and promotions. Implements company policies and controls merchandise shrink. Supervises inventory counts and establishes departmental procedures. Orders products, maintains inventory, and oversees receiving, stocking, and merchandising. Ensures proper signage and customer relations. Under supervision, directs department staff, schedules shifts, and participates in hiring and training. Monitors performance and addresses personnel issues, maintaining morale and compliance with policies. Monitors financial performance, communicates sales goals, and plans promotions. Handles customer inquiries and maintains confidentiality. Performs all duties with integrity, attends training, and provides operational feedback to management. Physical And General Requirements Extensive retail management experience and knowledge of company policies and procedures. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices. Business and financial acumen, including understanding profit and loss statements. Ability to perform manual tasks, stand and walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. May require travel and flexible hours. Adherence to grooming and dress standards.
