Join to apply for the GM/HBC Manager - NW Washington role at Safeway . Purpose: Demonstrates excellent customer service, manages the GM/HBC Department, supervises and trains staff, and collaborates with store management to meet sales and profit goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead customer service initiatives to exceed division goals and foster a service-oriented culture. Oversee store operations and manage department staff, supporting the Store Director as needed. Manage daily GM/HBC Department activities, including inventory, merchandising, pricing, and compliance with standards. Implement company policies, control shrinkage, and supervise inventory processes. Order products, maintain stock levels, and ensure proper merchandising and signage. Schedule and supervise department staff, participate in hiring, and evaluate performance. Monitor department financials, communicate sales goals, and report on performance. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Attend training and meetings, and provide operational feedback to management. Physical & General Requirements: Extensive retail management experience and strong communication skills. Knowledge of business, financials, and retail operations. Ability to perform manual tasks and stand/walk for extended periods. Occasional travel and flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment: Temperature-controlled store environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
