At Coding with Kids , we believe that great instructors are the heart of great learning experiences. We offer engaging computer programming education to students across the globe, and we’re proud of our passionate team of 200+ part-time instructors who bring coding to life for young learners.

We're looking for a Learning & Development Manager with a passion for people, a talent for cultivating positive team cultures, and experience in managing and developing a distributed workforce. While a background in computer programming is not required, familiarity with STEM education is important.

Your Role:

As our Learning and Development Manager, your primary focus will be on supporting, engaging, and developing our global instructor team . You will lead efforts to create an environment where part-time instructors feel connected, supported, and continuously growing in their roles.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building scalable systems to support instructor onboarding, professional development, and ongoing growth
  • Leading efforts to cultivate a strong, inclusive, and connected team culture across a 200+ part-time instructor workforce
  • Supervising and mentoring Instructor Team Leads and Mentor Instructors who provide peer support and feedback
  • Managing the full life cycle of instructor development: from hiring and onboarding to evaluation and continuous learning
  • Designing and delivering engaging training content tailored to part-time instructors with varying experience levels
  • Regularly connecting with instructors to gather feedback, offer coaching, and build rapport
  • Conducting quality reviews and classroom observations to provide formative feedback and support instructional excellence
  • Championing a culture of recognition, accountability, and collaboration among our instructors

The kind of person we are looking for :

  • A people-first leader with at least 2 years of experience managing people , especially in remote, part-time, or educational settings
  • Experienced in coaching educators and understanding instructional best practices (background in K–12 or STEM education is a plus)
  • Committed to team culture , inclusion, and engagement within a dispersed workforce
  • A skilled communicator—clear, thoughtful, and empathetic in both verbal and written communication
  • Exceptionally organized and adept at balancing long-term strategic initiatives with day-to-day team needs
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a mindset for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Education, Organizational Leadership, or Business Administration preferred

Work location:  

  • Seattle HQ office

Work schedule:

  • Hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote
  • Ability to drive to school sites to observe and model instruction

Compensation:

  • Salary is commensurate with level of experience.
  • Salary range: $90,000-$110,000
