Nutanix/Red Hat Linux Administrator Job Locations: US-DC Category: Information Technology Position Type: Regular Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Overview The Division of Information Technology (DIT) provides technical support to OIG employees across 27 offices nationwide, addressing issues related to systems, applications, and equipment managed by the OIG. This position requires on-site presence at the U.S. Department of Labor National Office, located at 200 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. Telework is available and currently in effect 100%. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience as a Red Hat Linux administrator (RHSCA certification with 1 year practical experience acceptable) and 2 years managing a Nutanix/AHV environment (Nutanix Certified Professional plus 1 year practical experience acceptable). The ideal candidate will communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, stakeholders, and customers, demonstrating a positive attitude and aptitude for the role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary Linux Administrator: Building servers/workstations, patching/upgrading software, user administration, software installation. Linux Subject Matter Expert: Reviewing and modifying existing systems, advising management and staff on Linux issues, assisting with Nutanix and Linux-based systems. Nutanix Administrator: Configuring/deploying VMs, managing Nutanix environment via Prism, patching/upgrading Nutanix, managing Nutanix Flow, Files, Era, and assisting with disaster recovery testing. Backup Windows Server Administrator: Building servers/workstations, patching/upgrading, user administration, software installation. Requirements Technical skills include: Using Kerberos to join Red Hat servers to Windows Active Directory. Managing Red Hat servers remotely. Working in virtual environments. Configuring servers with DISA STIGS. Maintaining LAMP/Drupal, BIND/DNS, Samba, and NFS environments. Managing Nutanix via Prism, Nutanix Flow, and disaster recovery tools. Patching and upgrading Nutanix environments. Additional Qualifying Factors Must pass pre-employment drug screening, background, and reference checks.
