Project Executive – Commercial, Higher Education, and Healthcare Construction

Location : Columbus, Ohio

Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000+ (plus performance-based bonuses)

Our client is a well-established, mid-sized general contractor based in Columbus, Ohio, with a strong track record across commercial, higher education, and healthcare sectors. As they continue to expand, they are seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead major projects while providing strategic oversight and mentoring project teams.

Position Overview

The Project Executive will be responsible for overseeing multiple large-scale projects from preconstruction through completion , with a focus on client satisfaction, team leadership , and financial performance . This role requires a senior-level leader who can manage complex projects while driving business goals and supporting company growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple projects across the commercial, healthcare, and education sectors, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget .
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Superintendents, and other team members, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
  • Manage project financials , including budgets, cost tracking, and reporting, while ensuring projects meet profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with company leadership on business development initiatives and assist in pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met across all project phases.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining alignment with client goals and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of construction leadership experience, with a focus on commercial, higher education, or healthcare projects.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects from preconstruction to closeout.
  • Strong ability to lead and mentor diverse project teams while driving operational excellence.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a history of building successful client relationships.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering , or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
