Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Offline Sales Director with a proven track record of success working with large retailers such as Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, and other regional retail accounts. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the household, kitchen, and home goods categories, and will develop clear sales strategies that maximize SKU listings across all organic platforms. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the retailers' strategies, objectives, and needs to effectively generate business within each account.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with big box retailers such as Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Costco, and other regional retail accounts. Familiarity with household, kitchen, and home goods category is preferred.
  • Develop clear sales strategy plans that will maximize the SKU listings across all organic platforms.
  • Become the expert on assigned accounts. Understand the retailer’s needs, strategies, and objectives. Use this expertise to generate more business within each individual account.
  • Utilize Category Management and Fact Based Selling concepts in every account.
  • Manage merchant relationships to effectively complete all administrative forms, promotion programs, resets, or projects necessary.
  • Work with merchants and executive teams to identify and evaluate new product ideas.
  • Target specific prospect accounts for conversion, execute sales action plans, understand account needs, develop relationships, and assist in securing new business.
  • Create and deliver retailer specific presentations for PLR, Promotions, Mid-Season updates, etc.
  • Build and closely manage relationships with customers at the buyer level and beyond to create or enhance the partnership.
  • Provide Division VP with regular summaries of current total POS performance across assigned accounts and future sales forecast.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8+ years experience with product marketing and account management required; digital marketing preferred.
  • Team building and leadership experience required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational abilities, including time and resource management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline required.
  • Product Marketing: 8+ years (Required).
  • Retail Field Sales: 8+ years (Required).
  • A minimum of 2-4 years work experience in CPG industry is preferred.
  • Experience working with syndicated data or category management preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to learn and use syndicated data to forecast trends and projections and analyze the effectiveness of promotional activity.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship building with merchants.
  • Teamwork approach within the organization to accomplish goals.
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and customer organizations.
  • Intermediate to advance PC skills (spreadsheet, word processing, presentations, outlook).
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
  • Some nights and weekend work might be required during peak season.
