Job Description
Alfred University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Office is seeking a qualified individual for the position of senior secretary. The successful candidate will welcome and assist students who visit the Dean's Office, provide administrative assistance especially with communications and record-keeping in the Dean's Office, and help with College event planning at the direction of the Dean or Assistant Dean.
Salary/Rate: $16.00-$18.00, 35 hours per week
Other Duties & Responsibilities: - Requires organization, efficiency, accuracy, initiative, the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong professional written communication skills
- Positive interactions with students, faculty, and University staff are crucial to successful performance in this position
- Experience with, or a demonstrated capacity to develop a proficiency in, software systems such as Microsoft Office and web-based data management systems (e.g., Banner 9 and Slate) is expected
- Previous secretarial experience is preferred but not required. Applications should have an associate's degree
Qualifications-- High school diploma required
- Associate's degree and previous secretarial experience is preferred

Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus. The Campus is located in an area that contains numerous hills and slopes and may not always be fully accessible for mobility impaired individuals.
