Job Description

A dedicated K-12 public school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is seeking three Special Education Teachers to join their team for the upcoming school year. This contract position includes one permanent placement opportunity. Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education
• Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level
• Appropriate Special Education endorsements
• Experience with self-contained and resource settings preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement instructional plans aligning with school-wide curricular goals and students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create, implement, and update IEPs based on diagnostic assessments
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive classroom environment; deescalate inappropriate behaviors and teach behavioral strategies
• Provide consultation to school staff, teams, and parents regarding behavior, learning strategies, and classroom management
• Support disabled students with personal care needs as necessary
• Prepare special needs students for inclusion and mainstream transitions
• Employ effective instructional methods tailored to student objectives
• Regularly assess and report on student progress
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate teacher assistants assignments and performance
• Participate actively in professional development and contribute to school vision and staff activities
• Perform additional duties assigned by school administration
