Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with school-wide curricular goals and students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Create, update, and execute IEPs utilizing diagnostic and assessment data to meet student needs effectively.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; employ de-escalation techniques and teach appropriate behavioral strategies.
• Provide consultation to staff, teams, and parents on behavior strategies, classroom management, and school-wide behavior support.
• Assist students with disabilities in personal and self-help activities such as eating and toileting as needed.
• Foster a learning environment that suits the maturity and interests of students, promoting inclusion and preparation for mainstream transitions.
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate teacher assistants performance.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the schools overall vision.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and undertake other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education.
• Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsements or required training for assigned subject and level.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teaching.
• Ability to manage and support students in diverse and sometimes challenging settings.
