The Corona-Norco Unified School District is the largest in Riverside County and the seventh-largest in California. Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Head Varsity Coach. The candidate should have:

1. Successful coaching experience in the specific sport.
2. Knowledge of fundamental and advanced skills for competitive athletes.
3. Appropriate personality and leadership traits.
4. Ability to develop and maintain a disciplined program.
5. Strong management and organizational skills.
6. High school varsity, college playing, or coaching experience in the sport.
7. CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

1. Verify clearances for assistant coaches before participation.
2. Plan and schedule team activities, practices, and transportation.
3. Follow district policies, site procedures, and CIF rules.
4. Promote ethics, conduct, and sportsmanship.
5. Assist in developing physical and leadership skills of participants.
6. Coordinate with administrators on activities and fundraisers.
7. Conduct fair tryouts and team selection.
8. Supervise team during practices, games, and events.
9. Ensure all team members are cleared before tryouts or practices.
10. Order and manage athletic equipment in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
11. Maintain organized storage and accurate inventory of equipment.
12. Maintain open communication with parents.

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must submit the following:

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, with transcripts if applicable.
2. First Aid/CPR/AED Certification issued on or after July 1, 2023.
3. Coaching Education Course (e.g., Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent).
4. Concussion Awareness certification (issued on or after July 1, 2023).
5. Heat Illness Prevention certification (issued on or after July 1, 2023).
6. Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification (issued on or after July 1, 2023).

Preferred Experience: Head varsity Track & Field coaching or 5+ years of varsity coaching experience.
