We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Answering Service Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to efficiently handle emergency calls related to propane leaks, provide timely and accurate information, and coordinate appropriate response actions to ensure the safety of individuals, property, and the environment. The position reports to the Program Director and is located in Ogden, UT with remote work options. It is a seasonal, non-exempt, full-time position requiring availability for rotating shifts and less than 5% travel. Essential functions include handling emergency calls for propane companies and other businesses, answering calls professionally and courteously, gathering and transcribing information quickly and accurately, communicating with clients’ customers to determine proper actions, providing safety advisories, tracking issues in an online spreadsheet, remaining calm and confident during calls, contacting on-call representatives, editing call logs for errors, and other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, intermediate Microsoft Office and Teams skills, typing speed of 30+ WPM, punctuality, adaptability, clear communication skills, ability to triage complex situations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred qualifications include previous experience in emergency response, incident management, law enforcement or security, and 2-5 years of customer service in a call center environment.
