Job Description

A dedicated Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the upcoming school year at a K-12 school located in Arkansas. Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education
• Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for assigned subject and level
• Appropriate Special Education endorsements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with curricular goals and students Individual Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create, monitor, and update IEPs using diagnostic and assessment data
• Manage classroom behavior through proactive strategies, de-escalation techniques, and, when necessary, physical restraint
• Provide consultation to school staff, teams, and parents regarding behavioral and learning strategies
• Assist students with personal and self-help needs such as eating and toileting
• Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and suited to students maturity and interests
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants, including performance evaluations
• Prepare special needs students for inclusion and transitions to mainstream settings
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school initiatives as required
